Rules of The 13th International Photo Contest 2025 in Vietnam (VN-25)

II. SECTION: There are four sections, and an entrant may enter any one or all sections and can submit a maximum of four (4) images per section and a total 16 images for all sections.

1. Open Color (PIDC)

2. Open Monochrome (PIDM)

3. World in focus (Color or Monochrome) (PID)

4. Portrait (Color or Monochrome) (PID)

Pictures created by artificial intelligence are not allowed in salons run under FIAP patronage.

III/ FEES:

- 1 to 4 sections: $25,00

- 10% discount for group with more than 10 entrants

* Entry without fee will be disqualified

VII. CATALOG: Digital catalog in PDF format will be downloaded from www.contestvn.com after the Opening ceremony.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

PICTURES CREATED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ARE NOT ALLOWED

It is reminded that all parts of the image have to be photographed by the author who is holding the copyright of all works submitted. Offenders will be sanctioned for life!

1. This Salon is open to all photographers worldwide, according to FIAP, VAPA rules, providing they are 18 years old or older. It is the author’s responsibility to declare and certify his own age and in case of being less than 18 years old to provide full authorization from his parents or legal guardians.

2. Each photographer can submit up to 4 photos in each category, total up to 16 photos. Digital files must be in JPEG format, 8 BIT, RGB, with the horizontal side maximum 1920 pixels and the vertical side maximum 1080 pixels, 300 dpi. Each file should not exceed 3 MB in size.

3. The results will be announced in the Salon website and email will be sent to all participants with the link. Each entrant will be able to download the acceptance list and their personal report card. All results will be uploaded in the website of the contest https://contestvn.com

4. Organizer will produce a PDF catalogue downloadable from the web site by the exhibitors. Our previous catalogues under FIAP patronage have been awarded with 4/5 stars.

5. An entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent believes the entry does not conform to the Rules and Conditions.

6. Photos that have been accepted for previous “The international photo contest in Vietnam” or which are so similar as to be indistinguishable from previous acceptances are ineligible.

7. Each Photograph must have a unique title. Words such as “Untitled” and “No Title” are not acceptable as part or all of an image’s title, nor are camera capture filenames.

8. The same image may not be entered in more than one section, irrespective of media, mono or colour.

10. Photos with any watermarks are not accepted

Judging method:

The judging is to take place remotely. The judges will use color-calibrated TV monitors

The computer monitors will display images at 100% of the image resolution.

DATA PROTECTION:

By entering this exhibition, you are explicitly consenting to the personal details you have supplied, including email addresses, being held, processed and used by the exhibition organizers for purposes associated with this exhibition. You also explicitly consent to such information being sent to organizations that have accorded official recognition, patronage or accreditation to this exhibition. You acknowledge and accept that entering this exhibition means that the status and results of your entry may be made public.

BREACHES OF RULES:

FIAP: The mention that by the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon under FIAP Patronage, the entrant accepts without exception and with no objection the following terms: - that the submitted images can be investigated by FIAP to establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if the entrant is not a member of FIAP, - that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking, - that any refusal to cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure to provide sufficient evidence, will be sanctioned by FIAP, - that in case of sanctions following the non compliance with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released in any form useful to inform the breaches of the rules. It is recommended to leave the EXIF data in the submitted files intact in order to ease eventual investigations. If, at any time, it is determined in the reasonable discretion of the exhibition organizer or the judges before, during, or after the judging of an exhibition that an entrant has submitted entries where one or more images may fail to comply with these Conditions of Entry, including the stated definitions, the exhibition organizers reserve the right to delete the entry from the exhibition and void any or all acceptances or awards in connection with the exhibition. Fees may be forfeited or refunded in these circumstances. The entrant acknowledges that the decision of the exhibition organizers or the judges is final

FIAP definition of Monochrome:

A black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very clear grey (white) is a monochrome work with the various shades of grey. A black and white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to stand in the black and white category; such a work can be reproduced in black and white in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage. On the other hand a black and white work modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one colour becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand

in the colour category; such a work requires colour reproduction in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage

FIAP Definition for “World in Focus”:

Just as with travel and tourism pictures, this section encompasses the full range of photographic

genres from architecture, culture, events, food, landscape, portraits, etc. A “WORLD IN FOCUS” image expresses the spirit of an era, the essence of a place or of a culture whether it is shown in an authentic scene or whether it is arranged. Digital manipulation to optimise an image in terms of finetuning of levels and colours is allowed as long as the image looks natural. The same applies for removal of dust or digital noise. Techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted.

REPRODUCTION:

By submitting an entry for the 13th International Photo Contest in Vietnam 2025 (VN-25) the entrant permits the organisers to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication in the exhibition catalogue, on an internet site and/or in other media related the 13th International Photo Contest in Vietnam 2025 (VN-25)

Note: Entrants who indicate that their images may not be reproduced or used may not be eligible for awards or inclusion in audio-visuals of the exhibition and could be subject to disqualification by the organizers.

NOTICE: When entrants fills in the Entry Form to submit an entry they will see the following feature to affirm they have read these Conditions of Entry

“I hereby expressly agree to FIAP document 018/2017 « Conditions and regulations for FIAP Patronage » and FIAP document 033_2021 « Sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red list ». I am particularly aware of chapter II « Regulations for International photographic events under FIAP patronage » of FIAP document 018/2017, dealing under Section II.2 and II.3 with the FIAP participation rules, the sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red list.”Failure to agree will mean that the application will not proceed.
